Fairy Cove Silks makes Left and Right Hand Fan Pairs

Fairy Cove Silks makes Left and Right Hand Fan Pairs and offers purchase of single fans (left or right) as well.

The contrasting color shown in this pair is Orchid. This piece is a fully assembled piece that allow for no raw edges or stave blades.

More importantly, the Fan Fronts offer a wonderful chance to make color contrasting choices and are very significant in proving LOFT to your fan!

Many fans are poorly constructed to be 'right hand pairs'

There is a lot of confusion in the dance world as to how to hold Fan veils to identify is it a Left or Right Hand Fan.

The biggest important factor is how it is closing when you are moving with it.

Paired fans will be facing inward and close symmetrically.

See the following suite of pictures to learn some easily recognized signs of which fan you are holding.

Here is How to Identify (L) Left and (R) Right Handed Fans.

If dancing with one fan, you will want to learn to have them correctly paired. Some dancers after dancing with two right hand fans will indeed go to the trouble to learn to use them correctly

The pair shown is a Large Stave (15.4in) Tropical Sunset, approx 60in/ 1.5m

Holding a Large Tropical Sunset with Orchid Fronts, Palms Up, Holding (L) in Left Hand and (R) in Right hand

Holding Left and Right, While Closed

Opening Left and Right.

Note Thicker closed ends of staves are on your outsides.

Close up holding Right Hand Fan

Holding 'book-ends in' Left and Right

As you bring them closer to your body at your sides they will close away from your body towards the heavier part of the stave blades.

January Color Naming Contest!

Submit the Winning Name Selection and Win a Free Veil – in the Size and Weight of Your Choice!!

Apricot is probably my favorite color - if that is possible. I love the smoky way the colors interact to create it. Our Burnt Apricot is a warm rusty tone that we think you'll love.

This particular piece has a bit of a very gentle 'thick n thin' going on:

The top has thin Soft Apricot and thin Soft Geranium Pink going into the wider deeper Antique Rose and wider Burnt Apricot.

The feeling of this piece with thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom makes it feel warmer and richer - enveloping. It will be beautiful to dance with, the light catching highs and lows nicely.

This color palette is very popular with warm earth tones and pinks, the colors work with a wide array of costumes. Within fashion and costuming there is extensive need for deep apricots, pinks, and roses. Hopefully this color helps fill a much needed offering!

Help us come up with a name suitable for this pretty New Member of the Fairy Cove Color Family!

Meanwhile, we have added this lovely new colorstyle 'JANUARY NAMING SILK', Orderable in 5mm veil, 8mm veil, and of course, under any product on our site under 'nonstock colorstyle.'

You can submit your color suggestion at our website here. The contest will end January 25th.
